Description: 

The Huntington was founded in 1982 by Boston University and became an independent non-profit in 1986. The Huntington Theatre Company is Boston’s largest theater company and still resides at Boston University. The Huntington creates seven new productions each season.
 
The Huntington also runs renowned educational and new play development programs. The Huntington also serves the local theatre community by operating the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. Since 2004, the Huntington has provided the facilities and audience services of the Calderwood Pavilion to many organizations, including some of Boston's most exciting small- and mid-sized theatre companies.

From the West: Mass. Pike to the Prudential exit. Proceed straight down Huntington Ave. The theatre is on the left.
From the South: I-93 to the Mass. Ave. exit. Right onto Mass. Ave. north. Left at the seventh light onto St. Botolph St. (You will be directly behind the theatre.)
From the North: Storrow Drive to the Fenway exit. Boylston St. (inbound) to Westland Ave. Right onto Mass. Ave. for one block (past Symphony Hall). Right onto Huntington Ave. The theatre is on the left.

From the North: Take I-93 South into Boston, exit onto Storrow Drive. Take the Copley Square exit on your left. At the light make a left onto Beacon Street and a quick right, following the path of all traffic, onto Arlington Street. Follow Arlington for approximately one-half (1/2) mile, crossing over the highway into the South End. Turn right onto Dartmouth Street, then left on to Tremont Street at the light in front of the CVS. The Calderwood Pavilion is on your right at 527 Tremont Street.
From the South: Take I-93 to the Mass. Ave. exit. Turn right onto Mass. Ave. north. Turn right at the fifth light onto Tremont Street. The Calderwood Pavilion is located on the left at 527 Tremont Street.
From the West: Take I-90 into Boston. Get off the highway at the Copley Square/Prudential exit. Follow signs for Copley. Stay straight to go onto Stuart Street. Go two blocks then turn right onto Arlington Street at the light. Go over the highway. At the light in front of the CVS, turn right onto Tremont Street. The Calderwood Pavilion is on your right at 527 Tremont Street.

Valet Parking
EXCLUSIVE VALET: PRE-PAID VALET PARKING
Pre-paid valet parking services from Exclusive Valet are available for all evening performances (starting at 6pm) at the Calderwood Pavilion for just $15. The valet stand is located directly in front of the BCA Garden, near Clarendon Street. Pre-paid valet vouchers are not required to park your car via the valet service, but are encouraged. Call the Box Office at 617 266-0800 today to purchase a valet parking voucher.

Green Line to Hynes/ICA station. Turn left out of the station and continue down Mass. Ave. for 6 blocks. Turn right on Huntington Ave. The B.U. Theatre is on the left.

Green Line to Symphony station.
Walk outbound down Huntington Ave. and the B.U. Theatre is on the left.

Orange Line to Mass. Ave. station.
Turn left out of the station and continue down Mass. Ave. for 2 blocks. Turn left on Huntington Ave. The B.U. Theatre is on the left.
 
CALDERWOOD PAVILION
 
Orange Line to Back Bay station. Exit onto Clarendon Street. Turn right. Go four blocks on Clarendon Street, then make a left onto Tremont Street. The Calderwood Pavilion is on your left just past the Cyclorama.

Green Line to Copley Square station. Exit onto Boylston Street and walk with traffic (Boylston is one-way). Take a right onto Clarendon Street and walk seven blocks, then make a left onto Tremont Street. The Calderwood Pavilion is on your left just past the Cyclorama.

GETTING AROUND

Features for People with Children: 

Children under 5 are NOT PERMITTED in the theater.

Features for People with Mobility Impairments: 
The Boston University Theatre is ramp accessible and can accommodate both wheelchair and companion seating in the orchestra section. A lavatory and water fountain accessible to individuals with limited mobility are located in the lobby on the main floor. The Uptown Garage at 10 Gainsborough Street provides ample handicapped parking with easy access to the Huntington.
 
The Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts is fully accessible. The Virginia Wimberly Theatre, located within the Pavillion, can accommodate both wheelchair and companion seating in the orchestra and mezzanine sections. The Nancy and Edward Roberts Studio Theatre can accommodate up to four wheelchair seats, depending on the seating configuration. There are accessible restrooms on both levels of the Calderwood Pavilion. The Atelier 505 Parking Garage provides handicapped parking in close proximity to the Calderwood Pavilion.
Features for People with Hearing Impairments: 
The Huntington Theatre Company offers ASL interpretation for the Deaf and hard of hearing at designated performances.

Both the Boston University Theatre and the Calderwood Pavilion are equipped with an FM hearing enhancement system. Wireless headphones are available free of charge at the main lobby concessions. Assistive listening devices are available to patrons at all performances.
Features for People with Visual Impairments: 
Audio Description is a carefully timed, live narration of the visual aspects of a performance. It is broadcast via a radio transmitter to patrons who wear a single headphone receiver enabling them to hear both the on-stage dialogue and the describer's narration.
Headsets must be reserved and limited seating is available. Plan to arrive 30 minutes early for audio described program notes and set description.
