Boston Duck Tours - tours through Boston on a WWII amphibious vehicle the ventures into the Charles River. The ducks have two wheelchair spots on each vehicle, and a lift to board passengers who cannot use the stairs. All children must have their own tickets. No “babes in arms.”

The Freedom Trail Foundation – actors in period costumes give walking tours of the Freedom Trail and its sites. Tours do involve quite a bit of walking and standing which can be difficult for young children and people with stamina or mobility issues. Contact the Freedom Trail Foundation directly to inquire about the details of individual tours.

Beantown Trolleys / Brush Hill Tours – this company runs the Beantown Trolley, where one can hop off and on at various stops throughout the day. They also run many bus tours of the area.

Boston by Foot – These tours are led by volunteers. They have a Freedom Trail tour and Pirate themed scavenger hunt specifically developed for children. They also offer tours related to Boston’s architectural history, including the major landfill project that became much of downtown Boston. Tours can involve a lot of walking, depending on the tour, so inquire beforehand.

National Park Service - Organized tours of historic sites offered by the National Park Service.
